They are FAA PMA eligible on Lycoming 235, 290, 320, 340, 360, 540 and 720. These starters are kickback protected and have ultra high torque, yet only weigh 9.4 pounds. They spin fast – 160 RPM, yet only draw 135A on 12V.
The Sky-Tec 149-NL Starter alternates with Prestolite ERZ-8011, MZ4222, MZ4222R, Lycoming 31A21198, 31B21064, 31A22206, 31A22552, and PM1201, and Lamar PM1204. Always verify manufacturers application information and FAA approvals before installing.
NOTE: The core deposit will be returned after you return any rebuildable 12 volt starter (Doesn’t have to be a SkyTec)
