KIT-0016 Kit provides you with all the lighting you need to be night compliant 14 CFR § 91.205 (C) on your aircraft. This kit includes a pair of Pulsar NS (Navigation/Anti-Collision) Wing Tip Lights (01-1280-B-12-L and 01-1280-B-12-R) and a SunTail (01-1360-12) Aft Position Light.

Pulsar Navigation/Anti-Collision/Position Lights

High Efficiency, Low Drag
The AeroLED’s Pulsar 600 Navigation, Anti-Collision, and Position Lights utilize one of the industry’s smallest foot-prints, and are designed for some of the most extreme operating conditions on the planet making this light ideal for use in Experimental, Certified, Commercial, ARFF, and Military aircraft. Several options include Anti-Collision Strobe and/or Position features to greatly increase recognition in broad daylight as well as night operation to help avoid midair collisions. Pulsar LED Navigation Lights can be used in both new and retrofit designs for both fixed wing and rotorcraft.

Note: No external power supply required. Strobe synchronization available with all Pulsar Series Lights. Mounting brackets included.

AeroLEDs offer high efficiency, direct replacement LED lighting for hundreds of aircraft. AeroLEDs are light weight, shock and vibration resistant, and have low drag. LED lighting easily lasts over 50,000 hours of continuous operation with no reduction by on/off cycles, with up to 80% reduced power consumption. The built-in Pulse Mode and synchronization blink the light on and off at a 1Hz rate when power is applied to the Pulse Mode power wire. Higher color temperature provides superior visibility and clarity.

Increased Safety – AeroLEDs lights allow you to comply with the latest FAA recommendations (Operation Lights On) regarding extended use of taxi, landing and anti-collision lights without fear of reduced light performance or life. They all feature optimized light color (6500k sunlight equivalent) for proven superior air-to-air recognition. The landing lights also feature a pulsed recognition light mode.

Reduced Power Consumption – High efficiency LED lights use less than 1/3 the power of halogen bulbs. They significantly reduce the load on the electrical system, and they will not dim due to low voltage typical of low RPM final approaches when you need them most!

Longer Life – Zero Maintenance – All AeroLEDs products are designed to be a “lifetime buy.” They last over 50,000 hours when properly installed and do not degrade with on/off cycles. They are extremely rugged and hardened against all kinds of electrical damage, shock and vibration.

Pulse Recognition Mode – AeroLEDs lights with pulse mode (or wig-wag mode) greatly improve safety by alternately blinking the left then right light once per second. This dramatically increases your aircraft visibility to prevent both air and ground collisions. At least one 36HX or 46HX series light must be installed to enable pulse mode.

SunTail™ Series

The SunTail is an exceptionally bright Anti-Collision Strobe and White Position tail light designed as a direct drop-in replacement for a legacy light, using the same mounting footprint. The SunTail does not require any external power supply, and can be synchronized to flash with AeroLEDs Pulsar wingtip lights.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the Pulsar NS and the Pulsar NSP?

The Pulsar NS has a forward red or green navigation light and a strobe that covers 180 degrees from each wing tip. The Pulsar NSP has a forward red or green navigation light, a strobe that covers 180 degrees from each wing tip, and a rear white position light.

What are the installation requirements for the SunSpot 36 and 46?

The SunSpot 36LX landing and taxi lights and SunSpot 46LX can be installed with just a log book entry if you can install the light in an existing mount and use the existing wires, switches, and circuit breakers. The SunSpot 36HX landing and taxi lights and SunSpot 46HX can be installed with the pulse function enabled in any model listed on the AML under STC, or in other aircraft models with a 337 that uses the AML STC as a basis for approval.

What are the installation requirements for the TSO lights?

If the lights are mounted to an existing mounting location with no structural modifications and existing wiring can be re-used, the lights can be installed with a log book entry. If there are modifications to the wiring, a 337 should be submitted for approval for the installation. If there are structural modifications made to mount the lights, a more extensive approval may be required, ranging from a 337 to an STC.

What is the recommended wire for the Pulsar and SunTail lights?

We recommend 3 conductor 20 gauge shielded single bundle wire.
